Abstract

Various components of organic nutrient amendments result in differences in mineralization and effects on wheat productivity. The objective of this research was to statistically evaluate the effects of farmyard manure (FYM), vermicompost (VC), and poultry manure (PM) on wheat crop growth, yield attributes and post-harvest soil fertility. Since the provided material contained manuscript instructions, but no experimental thesis or measurements, the constructed dataset is a demonstration dataset and does not represent field research evidence. Descriptive statistics of the demonstration dataset and blocked analysis of variance are conducted, and Tukey-type honest significance differences, Pearson product moment correlation and linear regression are employed to compare the treatments. Grain-yield demonstration means were 2.59, 3.08, 3.56 and 3.87 t ha-1 for control, FYM, VC and PM, respectively. Blocked analysis of variance indicated significant differences among the treatments (F=80.97, p < 0.001) for grain yield. Soil organic carbon and grain yield were positively correlated (r = 0.84), and treatment allocation was not independent of the correlation. The constructed example demonstrates quantification of source dependent amendment response. Generally, field replication, manure assays and multiple years would be required to differentiate site specific effects from random variation.
