Abstract

The contemporary world is marked by rapid technological advancement, materialism, social fragmentation, environmental crises, violence, and a growing sense of psychological insecurity. In this context, spiritual humanism offers an alternative framework that integrates human dignity, ethical responsibility, inner development, and universal compassion. The present study examines the contemporary relevance of spiritual humanism through the philosophical insights of Sri Aurobindo, Rabindranath Tagore, and Acharya Tulsi. Sri Aurobindo’s vision of spiritual evolution emphasizes the transformation of human consciousness and the emergence of a higher humanity. Tagore connects spirituality with universal humanism, freedom, harmony, and the unity of humanity with nature. Acharya Tulsi’s philosophy, particularly through Anuvrat, emphasizes self-discipline, moral conduct, non-violence, and responsible citizenship. A comparative examination of their ideas demonstrates that spiritual humanism can provide meaningful responses to contemporary challenges by balancing material progress with moral and spiritual development. The study argues that their teachings remain significant for creating a more compassionate, peaceful, sustainable, and ethically responsible society.
